80s crush genesis
80s Crush emerged in early 2021 as the logical extension of the Mike Mark Music podcast. These episodes still live on at Youtube.
Seeing a gap in the local nostalgic tribute acts, 80s crush looked to bring to life the 80's New Wave catalogue so many of us grew up listening to on the radio or seeing on MTV.
After some initial fits and starts, the original line up, in addition to Mike and Mark, consisted of Sean Mitchell on Drums, Chad and Giovani Andrus on lead and bass guitar, backing and lead vocals respectively, and Kessie Rae Schmidt on vocals.
You can still hear Chad and Handsome G playing in their current band, Victoria Station;
Kessie's family keep her busy, what an amazing voice; and,
Sean Mitchell makes a guest appearance every so often with 80s Crush and is a gifted photographer and videographer in his free time.
